The Australia Classic 2016 Social Drive is now confirmed for Sunday, 19 June 2016 in the Cairns region of FNQ Australia.
Feel free to pass on this invitation to anyone with an AC eligible car to join us, and everyone else who might be interested as a spectator for the morning meet.
We’ll meet at the DFO car park’s Mulgrave Road side before going for a drive together on the Tablelands.
There will be no challenges and tasks – you can just relax and won’t need a navigator, and kids are welcome too.
Come for 9:00 am, then we’ll put on an ad-hoc car show for ourselves as well as the spectating public.
Then at 10:30 we’ll leave for a 150 km drive across 2.5 hours: towards Gordonvale – up the Gillies – Yungaburra – Atherton – Mareeba – down the Kuranda range, and have a rich buffet lunch from 1:00 pm at the RainForeStation.
After lunch we’ll head down the Kuranda range to Smithfield, then head to our usual gathering spot, the McKenzie Street car park on the Esplanade to say our goodbyes. (Of course, some of those living at the Northern Beaches might choose to go straight home.)
AC will provide enough front decals for most of the cars for a nice uniform look for the convoy, though it’s not mandatory to stick on your car if you prefer not to.
Participation will cost $30 for adults and $20 for children. This charge includes the buffet lunch at the RainForeStation, plus contributes a bit to the decals – but doesn’t include drinks or desserts.
